danielkToday I received the preliminary results of my Abitur. Just as I feared, I had underachieved somewhat in Math and History. On the other hand I did better in English than I thought I would. And I hit the jackpot in Computer Science — woohoo! The overall score is 1.7, which means I’m fairly well positioned for university application. To raise my not-so-good Math score of eight points a little, I applied for another voluntary oral exam scheduled for next Tuesday.
Incidentally, I also received the application documents for the Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam today. If I don’t make it there, I’ll probably attend Freie Universität Berlin instead. The ball is rolling now. I’ll be soon be entering a new stage in my life. I have a feeling it’s going to be a rough ride. Hope it’ll be fun, too.

Hast du schon mal an Fernuni neben dem Job gedacht? Dann bist du fast genauso schnell fertig, hast aber schon mächtig Berufserfahrung. Es gibt sogar Firmen, die sowas integriert anbieten und dir das Studium bezahlen, MB zum Beispiel. Ist aber nicht für jederman, man braucht eine Menge Ausdauer…

Ein Fernstudium wäre absolut nichts für mich. Ausdauer ist nicht unbedingt eine meiner Stärken.

Ich wäre damals wohl nie auf die Idee gekommen noch ins mündliche zu gehen, aber ich hoffe dein Ehrgeiz wird dort belohnt!

Danke! Viel werde ich wohl nicht rausholen können: rein theorhetisch zwei Punkte, praktisch kann ich mich glücklich schätzen wenn’s überhaupt ein Punkt mehr wird. Aber die acht Punkte in Mathe sind mir regelrecht peinlich — es geht um’s Prinzip

your good english results are not realy supprising to me - i always was impressed by your prosa, considering you’re a freign speaker, actually
well, and of course i wouldn not comment your computer since results - never knewing either you’re a artist or a wizard - all that could been happened was that it was too low-tech for you
also you’re not fully satisfied with the other results it’s nevertheless a great result - blessings!
