What’s this?
These are the personal web pages of Daniel Elstner, documenting the parts of my life and work that I chose to put on public display. Among the many things you’ll find on this site are documents on technical matters which will hopefully prove useful. You’ll also find expressions of opinion on topics I care about, both technical and non-technical.

Why danielkitta.org?
Because danielk.org wasn’t available anymore. Seriously, the reason the domain name is danielkitta.org rather than danielelstner.org is simply that I was born as Daniel Kitta, and the later name change was not a decision of my own.
Oh, and it’s .org because that’s leet.
Who is this Daniel Elstner guy, anyway?
I’m a student and computer programmer living in Berlin, Germany, born in 1981 on the Eastern side of the border in that same city. Currently, I’m a full-time employee of Openismus GmbH.
The majority of my technical work takes place in the domain of Open Source software. One major Open Source project I’m involved with is the GNOME desktop.
